Website Spotlight: Goldstar Events

This is a new weekly series on the blog to showcase some of my favorite websites I use to save money.

This week, I'd like to share goldstar.com, a website that specializes in selling tickets for various events for a fraction of the cost. Whether you're looking for stand-up comedy, concerts or a food tasting tour - they have it on goldstar.

The way it works is that close to a date of an event, if the event hasn't sold out yet and the owners/promoters want to move ticket sales, they send a selected number over to goldstar to sell at a fraction of the original cost. The show is going to go on regardless, so they would rather sell an extra 50 tickets for half off then have those seats remain empty.

Just go to their website and sign up - it's free to join and you'll get one email a week announcing new events that have been posted. This is a great resource if you're on a tight budget but still want to go out and do something fun. Sometimes, they even offer free tickets - all you have to do is pay $2-3 per ticket service fee (which is much cheaper than ticketmaster anyway).

Give it a try...in the past I've scored tickets to broadway musicals, basketball games and concerts all for at least half off!
